San Juan Regional Medical Center is a 194 bed, Level III trauma center located in the beautiful San Juan River Valley in northwest New Mexico. The center provides healthcare to the Four Corners region of New Mexico, Arizona, Utah, and Colorado.

As a Team Lead | System Architect, you will determine the architectural design and strategy of Cerner’s solutions as it relates to system maintenance, upgrades, performance and contribute to defining the vision, implementation and support strategies for technology roadmap and domain architecture. You will be responsible for determining systems architectural design, lead build activities and technical support responsibilities as well as manage projects and support queues for solutions and services. This includes evaluating and supporting third party technology and vendor strategies to support solution requirements. Your responsibilities will also include consulting with other teams for incident resolution and proactive solutions, analyze, troubleshoot and improve system performance as well as manage the relationship with support teams and act as point of contact for support escalations. In addition, you will assess risks and mitigation strategies within the technology architecture, diagnose, analyze and troubleshoot technical problems to resolve issues and mentor junior members of the team.

Your people management responsibilities will include seeking to understand disagreements, ensure all perspectives are heard and facilitate a plan for resolution. As a leader of this team you will delegate the work appropriately, provide clear expectations and follow up to ensure progress and overcome roadblocks. In addition, you will identify associates and team priorities based on business direction and adjust when needed. You will be responsible for leading by example and sharing knowledge and experiences with associates and team, creating a respectful work environment where you advocate for your team, create accountability and recognize their accomplishments. You will also provide timely feedback to encourage success, ensure accountability and connect opportunities for your associates’ development. Finally you will identify the right talent to achieve the desired results and promote and build a diverse cohesive team to accomplish objectives and align associates’ skills to fill gaps.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelors degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, Computer Information Systems, Management Information Systems or related field, or equivalent relevant work experience
  • At least 5 years of system administration or engineering work experience
Preferred Qualifications
  • At least 3 years Microsoft Operating Systems work experience
  • At least 3 years Oracle Enterprise Linux work experience
  • At least 3 years VMWare experience
Expectations
  • Must live in or be willing to relocate to the Farmington, NM area
  • Ability to participate in on-call rotation
  • Willing to work additional or irregular hours as needed and allowed by local regulations
  • Work in accordance with corporate and organizational security policies and procedures, understand personal role in safeguarding corporate and client assets, and take appropriate action to prevent and report any compromises of security within scope of position
