Responsibilities Four Corners Power Plant is looking for a--Shift Supervisor--in Operations who will supervise and provides technical direction to Operations team comprised of union skilled craft employees to ensure the facility is operated and maintained to maximize the generation of reliable and efficient power through the continuous safe operation of fossil fueled steam turbine electric generating units.-- Provides managerial oversight and leadership during non-routine work hours (nights, weekends, holidays) which may include directing all other personnel on-site in the absence of their normal supervision.-- May be required to serve as Fire Brigade Captain. Minimum Requirements High school diploma or equivalent with five (5) years power plant experience in maintenance, operations or planning; and demonstrated experience in a leadership role.--Must be able to qualify as a Control Operator.PC proficiency including significant working knowledge of Maximo or similar computerized work management program, Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook-- Excellent communication skills and ability to work well in a team environment.--Thorough knowledge of plant processes and operating procedures for boilers, turbines, generators, and related equipment in a power plant.--Proven experience or knowledge of business practices and processes in power plant generation business including budget development, labor relations, and environmental and safety regulations.--Ability to analyze interactions of complex instruments, controls, process and human operators to monitor plant processes and identify and solve problems quickly, independently, and effectively in order to correct abnormal plant conditions and maintain safe reliable plant operations.--Ability to perform duties and direct personnel calmly and effectively in emergency and time critical conditions.--Ability to observe work and remain alert while working under stress and adverse conditions for extended periods of time and at irregular hours. Major Accountabilities Provide guidance and leadership to team members ensuring compliance with APS Code of Conduct and Core Values.Effectively supervise personnel to ensure the units respond to fluctuations in demand and operations and maintenance activities are done in a safe, reliable and cost effective manner.Ensure department personnel-- are properly supervised, trained and qualified to perform assignments.Implement and assure compliance with the Fossil Generation Conduct of Shift Operations which-- establishes the standards and expectations for the day-to-day operation of the plant.Administer coaching, mentoring and performance management including initiation of disciplinary action.Ensure consistent administration of union contract.Effectively communicate company programs, announcements, policies, etc. to employees and provide-- feedback from employees to management.Lead the plant configuration control programs that are designed to ensure that the plant components and-- systems are always configured in a known manner and capable of performing their design function.Enhance overall plant performance through involvement in day-to-day activities, monitoring, coaching and by taking leadership in areas that may indirectly affect operations, such as material condition, and work-- control processes and plant modifications.Participate in all aspects of Operations Department management to support safe and efficient operation of-- the plant including the development, implementation and performance monitoring of all corporate, site and-- business goals and objectives.Lead the Work Management Operations Support group, as assigned.
