  • Currently enrolled and active in an accredited nursing program
  • Successful completion of the 1st and 2nd semesters of a nursing program
  • Documentation from the accredited nursing program verifying the above
  • Current BLS CertificationPreferred Qualifications:
    • Plans to potentially seek employment at SJRMC as an RN upon successful completion of nursing programDuties and Responsibilities:
      • Provides individualized assistance with the activities of daily living appropriate for the area of practice
      • Performs vital signs and reports abnormal findings as indicated
      • Communicates pertinent patient information to the appropriate members of the healthcare team
      • Understands and follows policy, procedure and regulatory requirements as outlined by SJRMC
      • Builds productive interpersonal relationships in every encounter
      • Demonstrates teamwork
      • A Nurse Tech may perform additional tasks (excluding medication administration) under the direct -supervision of a licensed RN
      • Performs other duties as assigned

        • Must be able to see with corrective eyewear and hear clearly with assistance
        • Must be able to walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel, and twist frequently
        • Must be able to lift greater than 50 pounds and push 0-300 pounds using approved hospital transport -devices
        • Potential exposure to blood and bodily fluids and meets OSHA training requirementsSpecial Demands:
          • Sets limits when dealing with angry, hostile, or sometimes verbally or physically abusive patients and -families in an attempt to ensure a safe, respectful environment that will support the delivery of care
          • Effectively copes and strives for balance when caring for acutely ill patients and families
