We encourage colleagues to give back to the causes they care most about, supporting these efforts through our Volunteer Time Off and Matching Grants Programs.OverviewAs part of AIG's General Insurance Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) team, the Director, ERM will lead our Business Risk Self-Assessment ("BRSA") process to enhance risk management effectiveness across North America's Financial Lines and provide support for Global Casualty Lines as needed. The Director, ERM will advance the identification, assessment, monitoring, and reporting on key risks and track risk management action activities. -Key responsibilities include:

  • Lead AIG's BRSA Process for North America Financial Lines and support the implementation of the framework across International. Provide support for Global Casualty as necessary.
  • Drive the effective identification of key risks and the development of risk reporting and other management information for increasing transparency and proactive management of key risks within the business units.
  • Strengthen risk management culture within the lines of business, ensuring proper balance between growth, profitability and risk.
  • Provide a risk perspective and effective challenge to the strategies and budgets within the lines of business.
  • Review the design and implementation of realistic disaster scenarios, risk limits and tolerances by the Chief Underwriting Office in accordance with AIG's Statement of Risk Appetite.
  • Partner with Operational Risk and Technology Risk staff to facilitate the risk identification, assessment and action activities for operational risks.
  • Prioritize and oversee risk reviews of business unit activities and formally monitor resulting action items. What We Are Looking For
    • Minimum of 10+ years of broad-based global P&C insurance industry experience is required, including knowledge of Financial Lines & Casualty insurance products and the associated risks.
    • Underwriting, Actuarial or Risk Management experience is required.
    • Demonstrated familiarity with risk models, aggregation tools and data investigation.
    • Demonstrated ability to perform independent research, problem-solving and clearly presenting results to a senior audience.
    • Understanding of capital and liquidity implications from a change in risk profile through economic, statutory and GAAP lenses.
    • Proven ability to influence in a complex matrix organization and gain commitment from colleagues particularly those with whom there is no reporting relationship.
    • Ability to work collaboratively with peers across interdisciplinary teams and geographic locations.
    • Good communicator, energetic, team player and capable of motivating and building consensus.
