RTX Corporation is seeking a highly skilled VAT and US Sales and
Use tax Planning Specialist to support global indirect tax planning
initiatives, optimize VAT and US sales/use tax efficiency, and
ensure compliance with relevant regulations. This role involves
providing technical global indirect tax guidance, supporting
business transactions and expansions, and enhancing indirect tax
processes and governance. Please note when we refer to "global
indirect tax" we are referring to VAT/GST/US Sales and Use taxes.
What You Will Do: Lead and support global indirect tax planning
initiatives to optimize global efficiency, mitigate risk and
compliance with regulations. Evaluate transactions, supply chains,
and contracts to identify global indirect tax risks and
opportunities. Provide clear, practical global indirect tax
guidance to stakeholders across multiple jurisdictions. Support
global indirect tax related aspects of business expansions,
restructurings, and new product launches. Develop and maintain
global indirect tax strategies aligned with business objectives.
Monitor regulatory developments and recommend necessary planning
actions. Enhance indirect tax controls, processes, and
documentation to strengthen governance. Collaborate with external
advisors for specialized jurisdictional guidance. Cultivate strong
relationship with internal stakeholders and external advisors.
Support indirect tax audits by preparing technical positions and
managing discussions with tax authorities. Improve VAT and US sales
and use tax data accuracy and lead VAT support reconciliation
reviews. Identify and resolve root causes of reconciliation
variances. Drive system and process changes impacting global
indirect tax reporting and recognition. Up to 25% travel required
What You Will Learn: Strategic global indirect tax guidance by
leveraging strong technical knowledge of VAT and US sales and use
tax rules, cross-border transactions, and the tax impacts of supply
chain operations. Identify process gaps and recommend best
practices for improvement. Project Management. You will lead globa
l indirect tax planning projects and advise senior stakeholders,
ensuring alignment with organizational goals while resolving
complex technical tax issues in collaboration with internal and
external subject matter experts. Collaboration. You will work with
teams across enterprise services, shared service centers, and
large-scale finance operations, simplifying complex global indirect
tax concepts for non-tax audiences with clear and effective
communication. Analyzation and optimization of VAT and US indirect
tax processes using strong analytical skills and business acumen to
drive improvements and ensure compliance with global standards.

deliver results under pressure. Qualifications You Must Have:
Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 10 years prior
relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and
minimum 7 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 14 years
of relevant experience. Strong technical foundation in VAT/GST with
deep understanding of US sales and use tax. Self-directed leader
with a strong analytical and communication skills. Ability to
translate complex tax concepts to non-tax customers. Must reside
and be able to work in the US without sponsorship or relocation.
Qualifications We Prefer: Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance,
Law, or related field; advanced degree (LLM, MST, JD, or
equivalent) preferred. Previous experience with complex global
indirect tax scenarios related to the aerospace and defense
industry is preferred. Strong technical knowledge of VAT rules,
cross-border transactions, and supply chain tax impacts. Strong
written and verbal communication skills Good interpersonal skills

Hybrid roles will work regularly both onsite and offsite. Ratio of
time working onsite will be determined in partnership with your
leader. Candidates in the CT area near Farmington, CT are
preferred. However, candidates who live near a major RTX site

132,400 USD - 251,600 USD. The salary range provided is a good
faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX
